The transition to adulthood is challenging for any young person, but for youth who have experienced separation from siblings and family, this milestone can feel overwhelming and isolating. Many face this critical life phase feeling unprepared, disconnected, and uncertain about their future.
The JISU Experience recognizes that the impact of separation doesn't end when a young person reaches adulthood. That's why we provide comprehensive support for youth "aging out" of the foster care, kinship care, and adoption systems—ensuring they don't just survive this transition, but thrive in their new independence.
Our Aging Out Services support young adults from age 14 to approximately 21 as they prepare for and navigate life beyond system care. We meet them where they are and walk alongside them as they build the foundation for successful, self-sufficient adulthood.
Building on the connections and healing fostered at Camp JISU, our specialized programming addresses the unique developmental needs of emerging adults:
Foundation Building
Support & Guidance
Growth & Connection
At The JISU Experience, we believe that every young adult deserves the chance to build a fulfilling, independent life. Our Aging Out Services don't just prepare youth for life after the system—we help them discover their strength, reconnect with their identity, and create the supportive community they need to flourish.
Because the end of system care should mark the beginning of limitless possibilities, not the start of struggle.
